AM I RICH? The Monkees – Head RCA RD/SF 8051

The MonkeesIn our ongoing quest to net you enough money for a decent weekend on the drink by selling one of your old albums, this month we visit the back catalogue of one the best selling groups of all time to find a record that can put over £80 in your pocket.

Head by The Monkees in its mono form is a real rarity, not least because it wasn’t a big seller when it first came out. The boys had taken control of the music and the hits had dried up and they made a brilliant collage of a movie to which this is the soundtrack.

If you’ve never seen Head its late 60s trippy grooviness in excelsis. The music though is an acquired taste. And if you acquired it a long time ago but have managed to live without it for many years then why not liberate the capital in that 12 inches of plastic?

The stereo version is worth over £50 in mint condition. Interestingly all original copies of Monkees albums are worth upwards of £15, even the multi-million sellers. You can get £30 for Instant Replay and £18 for the excellent Headquarters waxing.
